Travel plan

We will begin the route heading towards the imperial city of Rabat and visit its magnificent monuments such as the Royal Palace, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, a work of the Alawite dynasty that contains the tombs of the Moroccan king and his two sons, and the Hassan Tower among others. . Finally we will tour the old medina, the Oudaya Kasbah and Chellah, the remains of an ancient Roman city.

At night we will stay in a hotel in the area.



After breakfast at the Riad, we will continue until we reach Meknes, the third imperial city of Morocco which is known as "The Versailles of Morocco" with its famous monumental doors. You will explore the Bab El Khamis and Bab El Mansour gates, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. Later, we will go to the town of Moulay Idriss Zerhoun, which is a place of pilgrimage for Moroccans.

We leave Meknes heading to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis. We will continue our way to Fez where you will have the afternoon free to enjoy the sunset while visiting places of interest.

We will stay in Fes.

In the morning, you will have the opportunity to visit the medina of Fez with a local guide, among other places of interest such as the universities of Bou Anania and Attarine, the Nejjarine fountain and the Karaouine mosque.

At the end of the day we will go to the Riad where you will spend the night.

 

After breakfast, we will leave for Midelt, passing through the mountains and cedar forests of the Middle Atlas. We will pass through Ifrane, a city known as the Swiss of Morocco with a charming ski resort, and Azrou, an important craft center specialized in cedar wood work. After the Zad Pass (2178m / 7146ft), we will arrive at Midelt where we will make a short stop for lunch.

In the afternoon, we will descend towards Erfoud and Errachidia through the Ziz Valley, full of palm trees and we will follow the course of the palm grove with the best dates in Morocco. In Erfoud, the city of fossils, you can see how they are extracted from the quarries and worked into the most varied shapes.

At the end of the day, you can have dinner, listen to the sound of drums in the desert night and sleep in a fully equipped nomad camp tent that you will reach by taking a camel ride through the dunes of Erg Chebbi, the highest dunes in the world. North Africa in the Sahara.

In the morning, after a good shower and a good breakfast, we will head to Dades, passing through Rissani, an important city of food, animals and crafts.

Passing through Erfoud (the capital of fossil marble), the next stop is in Tinejdad, where we will have a delicious meal. After that, we will have the opportunity to stop to enjoy a stunning panoramic view of the river.

We will continue to the Todra Gorges, through the large palm grove of Tinghir, where agriculture, dates, palm trees, etc. stand out.

Later, we will enter the Dades Valley and admire the hundreds of kasbahs scattered along the way. We will continue along the path towards the river and make a stop to enjoy it.

We will continue until we reach Ouarzazate where we will stay.



We will leave early to visit the Tifoultoute kasbah and the film studios. We will continue to a walled city called Ait Ben Haddou, a World Heritage Site declared by UNESCO; where we will discover its most famous kasbah where films such as Gladiator, The Mummy and Babel among many others were filmed. We'll have lunch right here.

Then we will cross the High Atlas and make stops to take photographs until our arrival at a Riad in Marrakech where we will stay.

You will have the opportunity to visit Marrakech with a local guide. A city full of life where there are great and interesting things to visit such as:

  • Medina: with narrow streets, full of smells, feelings... leather and metal souks...
  • Jamaa el Fna Square: you will find stalls selling juices, nuts... and at night, food stalls where you can enjoy typical Moroccan cuisine.
  • Koutoubia Mosque: This is the most important mosque in this city.
  • Bahia Palace: The construction of the palace took more than a decade, and its interior is full of majestically decorated rooms that you must see.

Finally, we will return to the Riad to stay.
